Cerler
The village of Cerler belongs to the town of Benasque and existed long time before the ski slopes. Quoted in the IXth century, but there remains very little documentation. This town has many noble houses of sixteenth century, and even earlier times.
With the creation of the ski slopes of Cerler, in 1970 (to 1,500 m, the highest town in the Aragonese Pyrenees), their tracks are the best, and have modern facilities and innovation. Tracks among pines, the track Gallinero of 2,700 mts. of length and 900 mts. of gradient. There are also cross-country skiing tracks, but these are located in the Llanos del Hospital de Benasque, with about 35 km of ski slopes and all embraced by a landscape of unparalleled beauty.
Without breaking the traditional urban structure there has been built hotel and extra-hotel accommodation of quality.
On the road to Cerler there is a nice viewpoint, showing Benasque, Eriste and adjoining valleys. The village of Cerler has a church.
